Project Lead: Camden Burd
This project replaces the traditional research essay with thoughtful, engaging, and well-produced audio podcasts. The podcast series will be utilized for multiple projects in the coming years however its first application will be in Fall 2021. Students enrolled in HIS 51601: U.S. Environmental History will engage with the field of American Environmental History through an examination of pertinent scholarship. Afterwards, students will research some aspect of Illinois Environmental History and then write, edit, record, and publish podcasts. This exercise provides students an opportunity to explore digital tools while considering new concepts like audience, storytelling, in the context of their research.
